Science TeacherProvide student instruction from a biblical worldview for high school courses in the Science department, advise students and parents concerning academic matters, and perform service duties as needed within the school.Key Results Area #1 Develop quality instruction to enhance student learningTeach assigned coursesPerform extracurricular functions (e.g. coaching, student organization sponsors, etc.)Disciple students through relationship buildingModel effective oral and written communicationKey Results Area #2 Support the mission of BJAParticipate in activities related to the school (e.g. grade-level assemblies, school spirit activities)Maintain student academic grades and attendanceAttend chapel and BJA faculty meetingsCommunicate the religious beliefs of BJA to students and student affiliatesAnswer questions concerning BJA's statement of faith and biblical position to parents, students, or those inquiring about BJAMaintain professional appearance and presentationKey Results Area #3 Partner with parents to support student growthCommunicate expectations consistently with parentsCommunicate grades on a timely basis through the Student Management SystemResolve parental concerns in a timely and gracious mannerEngage parents in matters of student discipleshipKey Results Area #4 Maintain a professional growth mindsetAttend school-wide professional development daysAttend conferences in academic fieldParticipate in Professional Learning CommunitiesCollaborate with subject area departmentRequired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Vibrant walk with the LordAble to communicate a biblical worldview and integrate biblical principles into subject matterDeveloping expert knowledge of teaching fieldAble to incorporate digital technology in instructionDemonstrate excellent communication skills in the classroom and interpersonally with studentsDeveloping organizational abilities in teaching and classroom managementCertificates & Licenses:Teacher certification preferredWill need to apply for a teaching certificate from the South Carolina Association of Christian SchoolsAn applicant for a position in the Bob Jones University group — Bob Jones University, Bob Jones Academy or BJU Press — must be a born-again Christian who has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
