We are looking for a welcoming and organized Receptionist to support daily front desk operations for a non-profit living community in Redwood City, California. This contract-to-permanent opportunity is well suited for someone who enjoys creating a positive first impression, delivering attentive service, and keeping a busy reception area running smoothly. The ideal candidate brings a thoughtful approach, patience, and strong communication skills when assisting residents, guests, and internal staff throughout the day.

Responsibilities:
• Welcome residents, family members, visitors, and service providers while maintaining a courteous and detail-oriented front desk presence.
• Manage incoming calls through a multi-line phone system, direct inquiries appropriately, and relay messages in a timely manner.
• Provide helpful day-to-day assistance to residents by answering questions and responding to routine requests with care and respect.
• Coordinate communication with maintenance and grounds personnel using a walkie-talkie to address operational needs efficiently.
• Perform administrative support tasks such as invoice coding, basic record handling, and general office organization.
• Keep the reception area and front desk activities organized, ensuring smooth daily operations in a fast-paced environment.

• Prior experience in a receptionist, front desk, or customer-facing administrative role, ideally nonprofit experience

• Ability to operate a multi-line phone system and handle a steady volume of inbound calls professionally.

• Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills with a service-oriented approach.

• Comfortable working in an environment that supports senior citizens and their visitors.

• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities.

• Dependable, flexible, and able to remain composed when interruptions occur throughout the day.
